With so many different moisturisers out there, finding the best one for your sensitive skin can be tricky. The main thing to remember is that you want something with minimal added ingredients and fragrances as this will not irritate your skin and can even help prevent breakouts and dryness in the future. If you’re not sure which moisturiser is right for you, here are the top five best moisturisers for sensitive skin!

Tolérance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Balm

This moisturising balm is packed with emollients and comes in a specially designed hygienic bottle that keeps it fresh. It’s fragrance-free, too, which makes it ideal for sensitive skin. Apply before your makeup or on its own to lock in moisture throughout the day. Great for people who suffer from dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. If you have sensitive skin like me (I seem to be allergic to a lot of make-up and common creams) Avene products are a great go-to selection.  They are specifically designed to soothe reactive and intolerant skin, so this makes it my no.1 choice.

La Roche Posay Lipikar Balm AP+, Intense repair moisturising cream

If you’re in need of a moisture-rich moisturiser, look no further than La Roche Posay Lipikar Balm AP+. It’s fragrance free and has the National Eczema Associations Seal of Acceptance as it repairs dry skin and keeps it supple. It contains niacinamide which helps to reduce redness and flushing. If you have sensitive skin use this to create a protective barrier on your face prior to putting on your make-up and lather before bed as an overnight treatment.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

Contains pro-vitamin B5 and is free from any added fragrances or irritants. Simple’s replenishing rich moisturiser is a non-greasy formula which is both hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. It’s also ticks the box for being vegan and certified cruelty-free by Peta. It’s not as thick as the first two options but depending on how you intend to use it and your skin type it’s a great complement to your sensitive skin daily routine and you will find it available in most UK stores.

CeraVe Moisturising Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin 454g with Hyaluronic Acid & 3 Essential Ceramides

Cerave is suitable for dry and sensitive skins as their hydrating moisturiser ticks all of our boxes being fragrance free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.  It’s important to look out for products which contain hyaluronic acid and ceramides as their role in protecting the skin and locking in moisture is key. Cerave have also developed a slow-release delivery technology called MVE as its structure is time released and means that it keeps your skin hydrated for up to 24 hours.

E45 Cream

E45 is designed to soothe skin and replenish its moisture barrier, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin. Unlike many other sensitive-skin moisturisers on today’s market, E45 Cream contains no perfumes or dyes that can aggravate your skin further. It’s also suitable for children and babies so you can use it outside of your daily skincare routine.  E45 also have a range of creams and treatments for various skin conditions so you know they have you covered and are available in most shops and pharmacies in the UK.
