Achieving the body of your dreams doesn’t mean that you have to exercise or eat perfectly; in fact, both of those things can be counterproductive to your long-term goals if they become overwhelming or aren’t sustainable over time. Instead, incorporate these 10 tips and tricks into your beauty routine to help you feel beautiful and healthy every day of the year, no matter what else may be going on in your life at the time. For example…

Moisturise every day, even if you have oily skin.

You might think that moisturizing is unnecessary if you have oily skin, but the truth is your skin will start aging faster with dehydration. Plus, that extra layer of protection will help combat moisture loss from our ever changing environment. Always make sure to do a patch test on your hands first before applying products all over to check for any sensitivity or reaction.

Be careful with your deodorant, fragrances and powders, which can irritate some people’s sensitive skin and cause them to break out.

  1. Some people have sensitive skin or are allergic to ingredients found in beauty products, such as fragrances, deodorants, and powders.
  2. Before using a new product on your skin, test it out first by applying it to a small area like the inner elbow or behind the ear where the skin is usually less sensitive.
  3. If you notice an immediate reaction from the product (redness or swelling), discontinue use of that product immediately.

Don’t wear makeup more than 24/7. It is not good for your skin.

Don’t wear makeup more than 24/7. It is not good for your skin. Just like washing your hands, your skin needs a break from time to time. Give it the opportunity to breathe and you’ll reap the benefits. You will be surprised at how much better your skin will adapt and feel when you stop wearing makeup all day long. I highly recommend taking weekends off to give your skin some time to recover. The moment I stopped wearing makeup on weekends, my face felt so much softer! What’s important is finding balance between looking good and feeling great.

Experiment with different colours to find what colours look best on you and make you feel beautiful.

Finding your perfect colour palette is a whole lot easier than you might think. Get some bright coloured clothes, face makeup, lipstick, nail polish or even eyeshadow to get started. Try out different colours until you find the one that makes you feel the most beautiful. It can be hard to narrow down what looks best on you so start by getting creative with eye shadows and lipsticks! You may be surprised by how much more confident you are when experimenting with colours.

Watch out for eye strain

The eyes are so sensitive that it’s important to take care of them. Wearing glasses or sunglasses, protecting the eyes from smoke or harsh lights, getting enough sleep – these are all good things to do for your eyes. But one thing to watch out for is eye strain. That feeling you get when you have been staring at a screen too long, squinting while reading something, looking at small print without a magnifying glass: that’s eye strain. If this happens to you often, consider giving your eyes a break by putting on those big, dark-rimmed sunglasses. As an added bonus, they will protect your eyes from harmful UV rays!

Get plenty of sleep! Your skin and body repairs itself while you sleep.

Getting enough sleep is important so your skin can repair itself. Reducing or eliminating screen time (television, movies, video games) can also be a huge benefit to skin health because these devices often emit blue light that decreases the amount of melatonin your body produces. Blue light exposure at night disrupts natural sleep cycles which will make you more likely to feel fatigued and not as well rested in the morning. Aiming for more sunlight exposure during the day is another way to boost skin health.

Exfoliating your skin

No matter your skin type, exfoliating is one of the best ways to encourage healthier, glowing skin. Sun exposure ages our skin, so it’s important to get rid of any extra cells that aren’t doing us any good. The best part about exfoliation is you can do it yourself at home! It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Just use a gentle scrub or washcloth with a very light exfoliant on it–you don’t want anything too harsh because that will irritate your skin.

Keep a positive attitude and stay calm

Keeping a positive attitude is difficult. That’s why we find ways to take our minds off our worries. That way, even if there’s something upsetting going on, it won’t feel as big or hurtful because we’re not focusing on it so much. And staying calm helps us control our thoughts more easily when they start to spiral out of control

Truth be told, sometimes negative thoughts can be helpful. They can remind us that this too shall pass, that life goes on after tough moments like the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship. It just takes some time. Some people spend years processing feelings from past hurts, but eventually they come back to feeling happy again. Keep working at your positivity and know that you will come back around eventually!

Find out what diet and foods work best for you and your body

This may take some trial and error, but it’s worth it to find the diet that makes you feel your best. After all, feeling good on the inside reflects on the outside! Be sure to try different types of diets– vegan, vegetarian, paleo–and see which one works best for you. When it comes to food, be mindful of what you’re eating as well as how much. Knowing what is going into your body will help with mental clarity and vitality on the outside!

Drink lots of water

Remember to drink lots of water! Keeping your body hydrated will help you feel energized throughout the day, plus drinking plenty of water will keep you feeling satiated throughout the day. It’s important to remember that there is no magic number as to how much water you should drink in a day, but generally it’s recommended that women should try to drink around 12 cups (48 oz) per day, while men should try to drink around 16 cups (64 oz). These numbers are rough estimates so don’t stress too much about being perfect, just make sure you’re trying to drink enough to feel satisfied!
